We are so thrilled that you found us today! After many years of planning and designing events in both personal and professional settings, we took our creative skills to the next level in 2020, and founded Ona Events!
We are not only promoting and celebrating the beauty, intentionality and passion that goes into events planning and design, but also the excellence, diversity and creativity that black designers, planners and creatives bring to Vancouver and beyond.
We are dedicated to working with you to design and host an unforgettable event. Our areas of expertise include weddings, corporate events and life celebrations. Guided by passion and professional experience, we are committed to ensuring you have a celebration that lives in your hearts, long after the last guest has left. Our design style can be characterized as minimalist elegance with clean, bright lines and details; however, we are always open and up for new or bold design concepts.

Hi! I'm Nkiru, the founder and lead planner at Ona Events. I'm deeply passionate about crafting unforgettable events – it is my calling and Ona Events is the embodiment of this passion.
For me, planning events is more than just ticking off tasks; they're incredible journeys of creativity, collaboration, innovation, and deep dedication. Each one I undertake is a unique tapestry, interwoven with threads of joy, connection, and personal commitment.
With over a decade of event management, marketing, and design experience, I'm dedicated to etching memories that linger long after the event has ended. My love for the arts has been a constant part of my life, and I'm dedicated to using space, texture, light, and color to tell stories and bring the visions of my clients to life. As a self-proclaimed super organizer, I’ll ensure that your special day unfolds effortlessly and flawlessly, leaving no room for worry. I'm all about delivering high-quality work, thoughtfulness, and unfailing professionalism.
Beyond events, you'll find me exploring the world, engaging in meaningful conversations, or cooking up a pot of Nigerian Jollof rice.
